The outrigger array is composed of 345 tanks filled with purified water. Each tank is 1.55 m in diameter and 1.65 m in height and they are separated with distance between 12 to 18 m. They are equipped by a single Hamamatsu R5912 8” photomulitplier tube (PMT) upward facing and anchored at the bottom of the tank. In order to limit the cable length between tanks and the readout electronics, the array is divided into 5 sections, named with letters from A to E (see Fig 1) containing 69 tanks each. The equipment needed to run and acquire the data for each section is centralised into nodes located in the middle of each section. The deployment of the outrigger array happened between September 2017. September 2018 (the timeline can be seen in Figure 1). The array has been continuously taking data since then. Analogue signals from the PMTs are sent through RG-59 cables to the node. This signal is separated from the HV that powers the PMT by a pick-off module.|One day in 2014 in Rochester, New York, a woman named Sandra rode her bike into town to do some shopping. In fact, she had so many she made a habit of giving them away. That's truly astounding when you consider the fact that your chances of finding a four-leaf clover are one in 10,000!

It's 2012, and you find yourself in the precarious position of being a soldier in a military that's embattled against the United States. You hear someone shout "cluster bomb!" in your native language, followed by a body-rattling, quick succession of explosions. Your vision blurs, you hear only a single high-frequency note.
The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) observatory is a very high energy gamma-ray detector located in Mexico. In late 2018, the HAWC collaboration completed a major upgrade consisting of the addition of a sparse outrigger array of 345 small water Cherenkov detectors (WCDs) surrounding the 300 WCDs of the main array and extending the instrumented area by a factor of 4. It provides an improved reconstruction of the showers whose core and footprint are not well contained in the array and increases the effective area in the range of a few TeV to beyond 100 TeV. This improvement in sensitivity will help to have a better understanding of the Galactic sources that accelerate particles up to the knee of the cosmic ray spectrum. In this contribution, we will show the current status, the performance, and the first results from the HAWC outrigger array. Designed to detect, target and then hit an incoming missile, Patriot missile batteries have been activated several times in the current war. These SCUD busters are an effective form of defense against chemical and biological warheads. C-4 pops up regularly in the news, because it is a favorite of explosive of both military forces and terrorist organizations.
With storage space, you could actually get too much of a good thing. Walk-in closets may bolster images of success and comfort, but having all of that stuff around can take away from creating a haven in your home. Too little or too much storage clutters lives. If you have too much storage space, you might fill it with more clutter, but if you don't have enough, you may not have room for a growing family. Keeping windows sealed helps with the heating and cooling bills, but may make it difficult to get out in the event of a fire. It's not a new phenomenon, but many people in industrialized countries get very little fresh air. We often wake in heated or air-conditioned rooms, commute with car, subway and bus windows sealed tight, and spend days in hyper-sealed work spaces. Safety and surrounding air quality factor in to whether we open windows and let natural air circulate, and privacy, noise and convenience issues determine whether we open windows in our homes at all.
